Thonga Beach Lodge is situated only meters from the beach and a 25 minute drive from Lake Sibaya (Southern Africa’s largest freshwater lake), which is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, now internationally recognised as a World Heritage Site.
Departing Durban we head for Thonga beach lodge and The Isimangaliso Wetland Park. This park was established in 1895 and named a World heritage site in 1999. We should reach our destination just after lunch.
Snorkeling gear, guided canoeing, walks through coastal dune forests, sandy beaches and sundowner cruises are a few of the included highlights. Other activities include scuba diving, ocean cruises for viewing whale shark and manta rays, fishing, turtle tracking, bird watching and a visit to the local village for a cultural experience.
Thonga lodge is also an ideal place to relax in the sun by the pool and sip cocktails from the pool bar. This is an ideal getaway for honeymooners and couples.
