Hluhluwe-Imfolozi is the oldest game reserve in Africa as it was set aside as a royal hunting ground for the Zulu Kings of old.
Hluhluwe and Umfolozi reserves were founded in 1895 but only joined in 1989 now covering 96,000 hectares. The Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park boasts 84 species of large mammal and is home to the famous “Big 5” amongst a diversity of plants, shrubs and trees; the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National park also boasts 340 species of birds
Together these magnificent parks are credited for our growing rhino populations, both black and white. Today it’s home to 200 black rhino and 2312 white rhino
