Day 1 / Saint Lucia Estuary

We depart Durban early in an air conditioned vehicle and begin our 2 1/2 hour drive to Saint Lucia Estuary, one of the largest in Africa.

On arrival, we board an estuary cruiser and spend three hours looking for hippos and crocodiles. Your skipper knows the river well and while his main job is to keep you safe he is able to answer questions about the park and its animal inhabitants. After the cruise we will have lunch.

After lunch we enter the game reserve with cameras ready and will head to the main camp to check in. Depending on time we may some time to relax or take a quick game drive.

At 5:00pm you will depart on a three hour game drive in an open safari vehicle.

Upon return we will sit down to a buffet dinner and share our day's experiences.

Day 2 / Hluhluwe-Imfolozi game Reserve

Today we will get up a little earlier as first light is a good time to look for lions and maybe catch a rhino marking its territory.

Back in camp we will enjoy a great buffet breakfast and hot coffee. This is a time to discuss the day's options before returning to Durban.

We can spend more time with our Big 5 Safari in the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, or you may prefer one or more of the optional extras below.

Optional elephant Interaction

We will drive out to a private game reserve that has adopted three elephants. These elephants were orphaned and hand raised so now see humans as part of the herd. You will be able to hand feed the elephants and touch them while learn about these magnificent animals.

Extra fees apply.

Optional Cheetah Project and Rehabilitation Centre

The objectives of this project are to create awareness about our rare cats and breed them for release into game reserve so as to sustain a population.

There are four species of cats: African wild cats, servals, caracals and cheetah. Some of these cats ambassadors for their species as they were hand raised and cannot be released back into the wild.

You will get to pet a few of the cats, take photos and sit next to a cheetah for a portrait shot.

Extra fees apply.
